Portfolio

As you may have noticed, I haven’t posted on here in a long while, that is simply because I have no time at all to write posts. It would seem silly just to waste this domain name so it is now going to be my portfolio site. I’m working on a re-design and also some actual content for my portfolio and it will be up…when it’s ready :D

Thanks

I Want To Learn About Icon Design

So here’s the deal: I want to learn about icon design. I know nothing much about it (at the current time of writing this) so, I’m going to learn how to make decent icons, and you can learn with me.

.

Here’s how: I’m going to post everything I find out, learn and create on my voyage into the difficult world of icon design so that you can have a go to, so by the end we both have good skills in icon design.

.

But fear not, those of you who already know tons about icon design, this will not be all I’m posting. I’ll be posting about icon design once a week, while also posting other articles. Those of you who are already masters in the art of icon creation, why not lend a hand and post other useful tutorials, tips and tricks for me to try out and talk about in my articles, just leave a comment.

5 Steps to Design A Fantastic Minimalistic Website

As minimalistic websites become popular, I’ve decided to write a guide on how to create a good, clean, minimal website. Later on, I’m going to look at some fantastic minimal websites and create some ideas for laying out a minimalistic website.

{NB: Not all websites need to be black, white and grey: a lot of minimalistic sites use a range of colours and still achieve the minimalist look. But for now I’m just going to talk about making a white-orientated site.)

Fireworks VS Photoshop

Fireworks vs Photoshop

In the competitive world of graphics programmes, there seem to be two large contenders and Adobe make both of them; Fireworks MX and Photoshop.

Okay, so I may be a little biased, because I learnt to use Fireworks and then later got Photoshop, but I am going to be fair and test the advantages and disadvantages of each programme.

15 Free Light Stocks

DSC01761Here are some treats, to start off this site. I’ve got 15, large size (1024X768), free light stocks for you to use however and whenever you like. To use these most effectively, set the layer mode to ’screen’, because that will get rid off all the black and leave you with the lighty bits of goodness :D
A good idea of what you could do with them is warp them to fit the shape of someone, in order to achieve a cool lighting effect
